Cricket Kenya releases fixtures for the ICC Men's CWC Challenge League A tournament

Cricket Kenya has released the fixtures for the first round of the 2024-2026 ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) Challenge League A tournament that is set to be played from September 25 to October 5, 2024, in Nairobi.

The tournament is a key part of the qualification pathway for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

The tournament will see six nations: Kenya, Denmark, Kuwait, Papua New Guinea, Jersey, and Qatar compete in a single round-robin format.

Each team will play five matches, with their performance determining their positioning on the points table.

This first round in Nairobi marks the beginning of a three-round competition, with subsequent rounds taking place annually until 2026.

The Challenge League A is a critical step for the participating teams as they strive to qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

The top two teams at the end of all three rounds will advance to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Playoff, bringing them closer to a coveted spot in the World Cup.
